We didn’t think we could justify the cost of hiring Tom. When we figured that we spent 15-20 hours a week — just on meals — we saw at once that we would gladly pay a personal chef if it meant we got those hours back. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we ever made.
I used to finish work only to have MarDee shoo me out of the
kitchen, stressed about getting dinner on the table. Now she’s much more relaxed and we can slow down before dinner and talk to one another. We’re even able to go for a walk before eating (it’s become a special ritual for us).
We’ve become closer, our meals are delicious and fulfilling, and as a bonus, packing school lunches for the two boys is a breeze!
